A superior quality condenser microphone for use when recording either in a studio or at a live performance. The small diaphragm gold plated capsule is precision engineered for superior clarity, and accurate frequency reproduction.
This condenser studio microphone has a wide frequency range of 20hz to 20Khz covering anything from a kick drum to vocals and wind instruments.
Although this mic could be used to record the output of electric guitars using their speakers I have always preferred to use a DI Box and record the output guitar directly.
For recording louder sound sources such as a drum kit, the mic comes equipped with a 'Pad' switch to reduce the output by -10db.
When you want to cut out the ultra low frequencies there is a 'low cut' switch that cuts off frequencies below 80Hz. This can be useful to reduce handling noise when using the JS-22 as a vocal mic.
This studio microphone requires a good phantom power supply of at least 36v dc and works best at the professional standard 48v dc phantom power supply.
This means that if you intend using the JTS-22 with home studio equipment you may have to purchase a separate phantom power supply. This is because some equipment only provides a 12v phantom power supply which is not enough to power this microphone.
Included with the JS-22 C229 1/2" Studio Condenser Microphone are a foam windshield, mic stand clip and ridged carry case.
